As you may well know Duncton Mill Fishery is one of my favourite wedding venues. An outdoor ceremony, a lake, a rowing boat, what’s not to love!?
When Becky & Gary got in touch about their wedding photography I got soooo excited. I knew Becky from my school days and to say she is gorgeous is a major understatement. She is that amazing kind of beautiful but in the most natural way so I jumped at the chance to photograph her marrying her prince Gary. She also told me she was going to wear a Naomi Neoh dress which is my number one favourite designer so all in all I was absolutely buzzing when the big day came round.
Becky got ready and her mum and dad’s house and I was lucky to work with some of my favourite hair and make up ladies from ID in Chichester. Also I have to mention the flower crown, just WOW! As soon as Becky put it on it completed her look, it was seriously stunning! The girls had such a chilled morning, it really didn’t feel like the run up to the wedding, more like a girls night in!
The wedding was on the most glorious summers day, it was hot hot hot! The ceremony was outside in the shade of a beautiful tree by the lake at Duncton Mill Fishery and their alter was a stunning wicker and flower arch. There was a British/Chinese fusion vibe with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, which included the bride and grooms parents and was so lovely and meaningful to both families.
After their vows Becky & Gary were rowed across the lake to kick off their reception and all the guests were in high sprits. Duncton Mill is a wonderful venue because it’s a beautiful blank canvas and can be personalised to each individual couple, Becky & Gary kept the decorations very relaxed with haybales for the guests to chill on, a wheelbarrow full of beer and beautiful floral accents.
The whole day was super relaxed and Becky & Gary were so chilled, Becky was barefoot all day, which totally summed up her understated but awesome character. When I was photographing the two of them it really struck me how perfect they were for each other, they are the brilliant combination of romantic and silly which always makes for the best photos. There was plenty of banter but underneath a true love.
The speeches were amazing and hilarious and the sunshine just seemed to go on and on. Guests cooled down in the evening when an ice-cream van arrived then everyone hit the dance floor to bust out some epic moves.
