2020, the year we will never forget!
Well that was a strange year for this UK film wedding photographer!
It’s taken me weeks to get around to putting together this blog because I thought I hadn’t photographed much in 2020 but guess what? I actually photographed a lot!
Not as many weddings as I usually do, but in 2020 I took part in some stunning shoots alongside a handful of micro weddings which were absolutely wonderful!
A Round Up Of My Year
My year started off with an epic wedding at Goodwood House which took place just before lockdown was announced, it was an amazing day full of love and laughter. Swiftly after the country was told to stay home and that put a halt to the majority of my weddings for the year.
However, while we are all isolating the creative juices were flowing and I was invited to photograph some amazing shoots as soon as we were allowed to. The first was a branding styled shoot at Ugbrooke House with the incredibly talented Ardour and Bow. I was honestly jumping for joy at the chance to do what I love after months of home schooling and just trying to survive lockdown part 1! Loading my first roll of film to shoot such a beautiful real couple at Ugbrooke House reignited the fire in my belly and from then onwards I took part in as many creative collaborations as I could.
The second shoot was at Came House with my good friend The Timeless Stylist which was another knock out. Again working with a real couple, I was able to shoot my beloved film to my heart’s content and be inspired by the other suppliers involved.
A week later I drove into a very quiet London to shoot with Littleton Rose and House Of Three at 10-11 Carton Terrace House (another venue which had been on my bucket list) for a ballet inspired shoot which was just beyond beautiful.
At the end of summer weddings were back on the cards albeit on a smaller scale.
I photographed three amazing celebrations in St Ives, at Ugbrooke House and in Chichester. On each of these days I was struck by the meaning of a wedding day. Love. There was just as much love amongst these 10-15 guests as any other huge wedding I had ever photographed. The most important thing is two people committing themselves to each other in front of their nearest and dearest, what more could you wish for?
Looking forward
Although 2020 has been a year of lessons and taking stock of all I have to be grateful, this UK film wedding photographer can’t wait to get back to doing what she adores in 2021. Photographing beauty, elegance and people in love.
Bring on the JOY!
